Entry Level Jet (VLJ) Aircraft Charter

Interior of a HondaJet. Aircraft in the VLJ category have similar cabin dimensions. Above banner: HondaJet.

An Entry Level or Very Light Jet (VLJ), and also known as a Personal Jet, is the smallest private jet category. These aircraft typically seat 4-5 people. They are part of a new and emerging segment of the market, incorporating the efficiencies of turbo-prop aircraft with some of the performance capabilities of jet aircraft. VLJs are typically approved for single-pilot operation. A second pilot can be confirmed upon request. These jets are perfect for short flights. Their jet speed makes them ideal when time is of the essence, and their size makes them highly economical.

The unique design of Honda's first business aircraft features an over-the-wing engine mount that allows for an approximately 30% larger cabin than a similarly sized jet. The engines themselves push the Honda Jet to a max cruise speed of 420 KTAS, faster than any other in its class. The cabin has a 4 place club seating arrangement with a 5th, side facing seat. Max seating is 6 passengers.

The Eclipse 500 became the first of a new class of Very Light Jets when it was first delivered in late 2006. Its successor, the Eclipse 550, can travel almost 1000 NM with a full load of passengers. The aircraft's advantage relative to other jets is its low cost of operation and ability to get into airports with very short runways.
